The Wassail Charm- gilded miniatures

Inspired by the ancient wassailing traditions of orchard blessing, where songs were sung beneath orchard trees to ensure a fruitful harvest.

The Wassail Charm celebrates abundance, gratitude, and the magic of the harvest season.

A tiny gilded miniature apple, carrying the spirit of old orchards and winter songs wherever it is worn.

The process is intentionally slow and made in small batches.

Each piece begins as hand cut glass, individually shaped and prepared before being water gilded using fine gold and silver leaf. 

Designs/ motifs/ talisman are then hand etched into the gilded surface using a reverse glass technique inspired by verre églomisé. 

Every talisman created from glass and gold leaf is then backed and sealed. 

Once sealed each one then has its own hand crafted silver setting made that speaks to the subject or design of the piece.
